Over 2 months ago, I had discharge and itching and discomfort. I went to see an ob/gyn NP. She did a full exam, all STD testing. She diagnosed me with a yeast infection and prescribed one dose diflucan. The symptoms continued and i went back. She said all tests were negative. She then looked at the culture and said it was bacterial vaginosis and prescribed Clindesse. That still didn't work. On a return visit, she concluded that it must be something I was using (soap, detergent, etc) I changed everything. I visited another doctor when the symptoms continued. She had no answer and prescribed more medicine for a yeast infection and bacterial vaginosis. At this point, it I was having severe discomfort (both physical and mental) After following her treatment, I called for test results and told her my symptoms were still there, she then tried to treat me for a UTI. I just went to ANOTHER doctor. He ran a culture and said it was ANOTHER yeast infection. He prescribed boric acid twice a day for 2 weeks. I did 12 days of the treatment and was still severely uncomfortable. The itching on the groin and back of my legs and pressure in the vagina. I went back to the doctor and he said the yeast was gone. He now wants to run more tests (he did mention herpes which freaked me out since I had already had all my STD tests done when the problem began.) it concerns me because the itching is not only in the vaginal area but on the backs on my legs and sometimes on the front. This is really affeting my state of mind...Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
