I'm 18 years old and I've been having a splitting headache for about 4 days now. I can't explain it, everytime I bended down to pick something up or looked left, right, up and down my eyes and head would hurt a lot. Ok but that's not the real problem.

Two days ago I noticed my face in the mirror and it was breaking out. Not like pimples but red spots all around both of my cheeks and I've never had this before. I've always had clear skin. They aren't like pimples though or maybe they are, I don't know. But they are red dots and then when I looked at my hands I noticed I had red dots spread out on them too and front and back and I searched my arms and saw some red dots. WHAT IS THIS? I just finished crying because I don't know what's happening to me, is this some disease? I don't know what to do but if somebody knows or has an idea of what this could be, please tell me and reply to this post. I really need to know. I'm freaking out right now.

Please don't ignore this post and help me

  • Sounds like you've picked up a virus and need some blood work. You could also have low blood pressure, a very bad diet, allergies to food or airborn stuff...I would get blood work for anything that would cause a rash...tic bite comes to mind. If you are taking any type of prescription drugs, this could be a reation to it.

  • I was going to suggest that the red splotches might be hives, an allergic reaction to a medicine, a food or something in your environment. Then I read someone's suggestion that you might have chicken pox. This made me remember my own bout with chicken pox when I was 16-years-old. I had a headache that was exactly like the one you're describing. And, of course, red splotches that start on one area of your body and then spread are part of chicken pox too. Mine didn't itch at first, so lack of itching doesn't rule out chicken pox. Other symptoms that I remember from having chicken pox included being really tired and having a terribly sore throat (due to pox on the surface of my throat). You might also run a fever with chicken pox.Self diagnosis is dangerous. Go see your doctor. But don't worry too much about having some dread disease. It probably is chicken pox or something else easily explainable. You'll feel much less scared when you know what you're dealing with, what to expect and how long it will last.Good luck sweetie!

  • It could be many things. Don't self diagnosis these sorts of problems and get yourself checked out ASAP! You are only 18 years old so there are some viral diseases that are serious that need to be ruled out. Go to the ER or get in to your dr asap.. don't wait. Freaking out is like spinning your wheels; when you need to go somewhere. Hopefully it will be something not too bad; but your age group is susceptable to some pretty nasty viruses and other diseases like meningitis, guillen reye syndrome, chicken pox, measles, and such. Self diagnosing can be dangerous--- get in to the dr, please! Even chicken pox can be serious if the sores get infected. *Chicken pox is also very contagious, and if that is what it is you need to know it so you can reduce the chances of spreading it to somebody whose immune system is compromised.Do you live at home or at a college? If you are a student; you can get in to your student health service and get checked out. But if things escalate and become very bad quickly ; then a quick trip to the ER could be necessary.Do take care of yourself!

  • kinda sounds like fifth's disease to me too, but the headache might be a sinus headache along with allergies - which could also cause a rash. Either way, you should take a trip to the dr.

  • My sister had splitting headaches like this and brushed them off as migraines. Turned out she had a brain tumor. It was fine though--not cancerous and they cut it out. She had no splotches like you, but the point is---go to the doctor!!! It could be something serious that if caught early can be cured.
