I am really hoping someone out there can help me please. My symtoms started last year, I had an ulcer that burst and I had peritinitous, I was treated surgically and after a couple of months everything was fine. However three months ago I developed pain in my right side and suffered sudden projectile vomiting, I saw my GP and was referred to the hospital for a camera to look into my stomach, the result was normal, so then I was referred for a stomach scan, which has also come back normal except for it showed I have a fatty liver, I had a simular scan 6 months ago and was told I had the liver of a 21 year old, so how can my liver deteriate so quickly over 6 months. I dont drink and i dont take no drugs of any sort.
My doctor has said that I shouldn't worry and everything is fine, but if thats the case then why am I in pain and why am I vomiting? Please if anyone has any ideas then please let me know as im now thinking my doctor thinks im mad!!

  • I am sorry that you are in pain. It might be scar tissue aka addhisions. Although, if you have a fatty liver that can cause pain by itself. You might try a liver cleanse that you can get at any health food store. If your scan came back normal then it could not be gall stones. Either way, try some Organic apple cider vinegar made by Mother's (very important! NOT the regular stuff that you get for cooking) a teaspoon before every meal will aid in digestion and hopefully stop your pain.I have had abdominal pain and all sorts of surgeries over 16yrs. I am not an expert, but this has helped me. Good luck.

Yes, fat doesn't usually accumulate in the liver, but it can be harmless. It can also be caused by a variety of things including peritonitis. If it's non-alcoholic fatty liver, it's usually ok as in it won't kill you. You state you don't drink, so I would venture that it is indeed not all that harmful for you-- unless you continue to vomit and have pain. However, given your doctor's reaction, the fatty liver may not be what's causing your pain and vomiting. There are 3 types of fatty liver-- I would ask your doc to be sure you have the non-alcoholic type and not a more detrimental or progressive form. Also, he should be able to tell you if the pain and vomiting was caused by this and if so, what you can expect as per future episodes. If it's not, ask him/her what needs to be done to find the cause and fix it. All my best. I hope you get some relief.

  • I have had alot of pain (mostly right side), have had many, many tests, this over several years, and have now been diagnosed with gastroparsis. There are not alot of meds. out there, but there is some help, and at least you won't feel like you are crazy any more! I went for years, from one thing to another, you need to have a gastric emptying study done to have a diagnosis. There are web sites about this disorder, they will give you alot of info. Good luck to you!!!
