Since January I've suffered insomnia. It all seemed to start with a heavy period which gave me a headache on the left side of my head. Insomnia started and then I started getting terrible muscle aches and burning throughout my body. I then developed chills and seem to not be able to warm up. I haven't had a fever though, my temp has actually most days been below normal. I have had difficulty swallowing, the left side of my neck, chest, arm and back are very pained. My ribs feel all twisted up. I am typically a pretty healthy 34 year old woman and have never experienced anything like this and rarely even see a doctor.

So far I've had heart tests like EKG, and an echocardiogram that were normal. I have been taking Ambien which when lucky helps me to sleep but last few nights no sleep. I have an Upper Endoscopy scheduled next week to rule out swallowing issues and GERD. The last doctor I saw gave me a pamplet on Fibromyalgia which I am not really sure I want to go down that route until I have exhausted every other possibility. I have an appt coming up also with a Musculosketal/bone doctor. I recently tried light adjustment chiropracty and they said I also had scholiosis..always knew I had a slight curve but it appears to be worst now. Blood tests have all been pretty normal except Vitamin D was only at a level of 9. I also did a sleep study where they determined I didn't have Sleep Apnea and that was about all they were interested in..

Anyone have any clue or ideas please..feeling so isolated and freakish..:(

  • Get a catscan,,And if ambien is not working which it never does you could try seroquel lite doses help people with insomnia like 200 mg or 300 mg ,, your case is just as confusing as mine but I submitted this to you so maybe they could check head also, a sleep alternative for insomnia rvandini@hotmail.com
