I've been having sharp pains in my chest for years now. It hurts a lot, it hurts too much to breathe when this happens and i have to hold my breath till it stops hurting as much. This morning i woke up sore all over.
Recently, i got sorta sick-got a nasty cough and fever, the works. I guess i went to the doctor too late. she said it was probably allergies and that my lungs were clear. But when i breathe out it sounds like I'm whistling no matter what I'm doing.
My back has been hurting a lot and cracking and it feels like its burning up and down my whole spinal cord sometimes. my chest feels like this too. I still have a cough and it aches to breathe. When my doctor asks me to breathe deeply it leaves me out of breath and shaky. Still, she says it's allergies. I've been on the medication for allergies for a long time now-trying different ones. It's obviously not working.

does anyone know what is wrong with me?

  • Hi Vivian,Mom needs to take you to the doctor as soon as possible. It could be pleurisy and maybe now pneumonia. There could also be something else going on. Is your house moldy? Any gas leaks (obtain a carbon monoxide detector)? You may need emergency room treatment so get some help quickly. http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/understanding-pleurisy-basics

  • Thank you very much. I finally went to my doctor-she referred me to a different doctor, a back doctor. I went to him today, after waiting 4 weeks for an appointment and was diagnosed with Scheurmann's Disease. My back is pressing on my lungs, which explains why every time I get sick it is terrible to breathe. Thanks again! :D
