Hi All,

Well first of all I want to tell you my condition.Right from the Childhood I used to sweat a lot by palm and foot.I use to keep my handkerchief and used to write. But I think as I grew up this problem became severe as it started affecting my social Life.I became an introvert and just wanted to be away from limelight.I used to take homoeopathic medicine but nothing worked.Later during my B.Tech days I started sweating from underarms. Now I think it is hampering my confidence a lot.Shaking hands is a Big thing for me.

So what should be best done for my case??

  • "Hyperhydrosis may be part of an underlying medical condition (secondary Hyperhydrosis ) or may be of unknown cause (primary Hyperhydrosis). In general, secondary Hyperhydrosis involves the entire body. Diseases or medical conditions which cause secondary Hyperhydrosis include hyperthyroidism, endocrine treatment for malignant diseases, psychiatric disorders, obesity and menopause. Primary Hyperhydrosis, or sweating without known cause is also termed idiopathic or essential Hyperhydrosis. This is a much more common condition than secondary Hyperhydrosis and may occur in one or several locations of the body. The hands, feet and armpits are the most common locations. The condition usually starts during adolescence and is lifelong. Nervousness and anxiety can precipitate excessive sweating.""Sweaty hands is usually the most distressing manifestation of primary Hyperhydrosis. The amount of hand sweating varies from moisture to dripping. Many patients report that their hands also feel cold. Because our hands are exposed in social and professional settings, many patients with Hyperhydrosis are self conscious and may avoid social contact. They may be reluctant to shake hands, handle paperwork, etc . Patients have even been embarrassed to hold the hands of those they love.AXILLARY, PLANTAR, AND OTHER SYMPTOMS OF Hyperhydrosis Axillary Hyperhydrosis, or excessive sweating in the armpits can cause embarrassing wet marks on shirts. Plantar hyperhydrosis refers to excessive sweating of the feet and is a known cause of foot odor. Less commonly, patient may have excessive sweating of the trunk or thighs"TREATMENT OF HYPERHYDROSIS: http://www.nosweatsurgery.com/hyperhyd.htm

  • rizvi,You will need to do some research on this, but if you can afford the treatments, check out "Botox" injections (yes, the wrinkle stuff). It is supposed to work to paralyze the sweat glands even in the worst areas. It can last 3-6 months for some people. I heard about it years ago on a TV medical science segment, so I'm not sure if it ever got approved for this use.Hope that is helpful to you and fellow sufferers.

  • I too, have noticed heavy sweats. Several yrs ago, I used to have temper tantrums, only to learn it happened when I got overheated. Over time, I started noticing I was starting to sweat excessively, & it got so bad I had to carry towel, then a bath sheet. I was to the dr, who sent me to a dermatologist. Neither can help since I'm among the only 1% who has full body. I'm now stuck alone w/o any help,m& have since alerted a good friend, who's like a sister to me, to the issue. She's a retired flight nurse, & married to a now retired lawyer. I alerted them to the problem & what I'm seeking, I told all. I thought this was a,passing thing, but it only worsened. I now resort to cooling products,,such as cooling vests. I just got an evaporative one that awaits summer. What I really need is an ice water circulating vest.Hi All, Well first of all I want to tell you my condition.Right from the Childhood I used to sweat a lot by palm and foot.I use to keep my handkerchief and used to write.
