hi, i am a 20 year old female, and the doctor tells me i have gastritis, and acid reflux which is a common symptom of gastritis. i went to him about a week ago and i told him i felt a rolling lump from the bottom of my abdomen to the upper epigastric area on right side, i experienced that the day before i went to him. this rolling lump only occurs the day after and most likely the morning afetr i eat late at night. the day i saw him i had not eaten much the day before so he could not feel anything wrong with me. i thought maybe it could be a hernia... he ordered a ct scan of the abdomen and pelvic areas... the ct scan came back normal... i saw him a week ago and since then this rolling lump which sometimes makes mushy sounds has been there several mornings after seeing him. he says it might be gas or the intestines, but why would it only be in the same area? does anyone have any insight for me, i am desperate to know why my tummy is so inflammed and what this rolling bump that dissapears when i push in and roll it from the bottom of my tummy to the epigastric area is? i am scared if a ct scan cant pick up a hernia sometimes what should i do.. what will pick it up? or what else could i have?

  • I don't know if this is what you are feeling, but I have had something that almost feels like a ball or bubble in my upper stomach area. (It feels nothing like gas) They ran lots of tests on me because I was having such horrible stomach pains and fatigue everytime I ate. It turns out I have a lot of food allergies-maybe it's something you can look into.

  • I don't think your crazy. I just want to know whats up with all of us.Pain in the epigastric area, What feels like a lead weight be carried around. Feeling tired alot. A fever every now and then. And discomfort. All i know is it don't feel good. I had x-rays done, Nothing. I had blood work done, Nothing. Drank that bottle stuff of Magnesium Citrate. Had me running like a chicken with her head cut off. But the discomfort is still here, as loud and proud that it bothers me. Any clues whats going on anyone? Help would be much appreciated, Seriously. Kiawatha Rising

For a long time the doctors couldnt tell her what it was and yet she had increased pain. Finnally the doctor decided that exploritory surgery may be able to solve the problem. Now keep in mind Im not a doctors so I may get somthing wrong here. Apperently the intestine has small pockets in its lining, and as such thing can get caught in it. Such as small seeds like sesame seeds. This obviusly can cause an infection. During the exploritory examine the doctor also noted that for some reason my Moms large intestine had, for lack of a better term, flipped over and as such he deternimed that because of the kink, it would be nessasary to remove a small portion of the intestine. I do hope this helps a bit at least to let you ask some more questions at the doctors office.
