I'm convinced that there is a rhyme and reason to my husband's symptoms. Any suggestions are appreciated.

-frequent nausea that occasionally results in vomiting
-headache accompanied with and without sensitivity to light
-has experienced several "spells" of extreme weakness, nausea, loss of coordination, extreme headache, sensitivity to light, memory impairment, brief loss of conciousness
-in some instances i've noticed relief to the above with consumption of food, especially that of a high sugar content
-unusual sleep patterns - he'll get little or no sleep for several days and then do what I have nicknamed "binge sleeping" when he sleeps for abnormally long hours
-night sweats that soak sheets, pillows, blankets
-craves caffiene as well as sugar (ex: will binge on an entire pan full of baked cookies, eat icing by the spoonful from the container for breakfast)
-will often forget and/or be to "busy" to eat and will go an entire day having consumed little or nothing

background info:
25 yr old white male
6'1" 240lbs
smoker: 1 pack per day for 7+ years
Dx mitral valve prolapse
Dx anxiety induced by mild OCD
Rx Adderal 15mg x2 per day

  • Hypoglycemia, also called low blood glucose or low blood sugar, occurs when blood glucose drops below normal levels. Glucose, an important source of energy for the body, comes from food. Carbohydrates are the main dietary source of glucose. Rice, potatoes, bread, tortillas, cereal, milk, fruit, and sweets are all carbohydrate-rich foods. Here are the symptoms: Hypoglycemia causes symptoms such as hungershakinessnervousnesssweatingdizziness or light-headednesssleepinessconfusiondifficulty speakinganxietyweakness
