I have been suffering from quite acute dissiness, giddiness and balance disorders for last 1.5 years and its been really quite a tough journey since then. Quite often, I get symptoms such as dissiness, lack of co-odination or a feeling of 'drunkenness', light headedness, motion sickness, confusion, disorientation, severe stiffness in body and headaches. These symptoms are almost on daily basis and make me quite nervous and tense especially while in office or in a crowded makrket place where there is lot of movements around. This makes me more giddy and body movememnts become more stiff. Particularly indoors, I feel more giddy and feeling of faintness. Most of the times, I have to lie down or sit in order to feel better and relax. Otherwise, my palpation increases wiht some cold sweats in hands. The symptoms have aggravated much in the last few months. I dont feel comfortable while driving. After working on computer for sometime, then again I start getting imbalance and headache.

can anybody plz suggest how can I overcome this ??

  • i have been to couple of doctos but nothing is diagnosed clearly. I have also gone through series of tests..they relate it to anxiety.. am not sure how true is it? Hmmmm Doctors are very good at that if they can't see something they put it down to stress/anxiety/depression. I stand my ground with all of them now.......lol:).....give them a hard time......:D......believe me when u do this they do take notice.....I don't get emotional with them, I just straight talk & be very direct, not rude ........this way they do listen....take no nonsence from them .....Its ur health & u want to be fit & well so do whatever u have too ! I actually looked at vertigo on Wikipedia.....& ur symptoms seem so classic of this....take a look at it.....don't be alarmed at the causes as i have known 2 people that have had it, if i remember right it happened after they had the flu or virus.....they fully recovered. Maybe it is something else but uve gotta start somewhere & here is as good as any ! Let me know how u get on plz. I wish u well & hope u get to the bottom of this & recover very soon ! :)

  • thanks for your concern !! I have also consulted an ENT specialist for vertigo and he has ruled out that as well. Doctors are just passing the buck from one specialist to the other and nobody is able to get hold of root cause.. Sometimes, the symptoms are quite severe and bothering..I have been facing headaches, drowsiness, feeling of faintness and dissy feel. Another doctor is suspecting migraine and suggested me a medicine Belog-Zoc 95 mg for this.I have found on net that this medicine has couple of side effects some extreme. Hope this not trigger some more side effects. Since I already feel week, I am not sure how much would this medicine help. Does /has anyone heard/tried this drug and if yes, how has been the effect of this? Your feedback is important for me to decide if I should take this medicine. Are there any other drugs for migraine which have relatively less side effects? Thanks to everyone who can understand my concern. tan77

  • Have you thought of allergies or looked at your blood sugar? I have low blood pressure and get dizzy a lot. It feels like the world is turning upside down. I've also fainted and seized before and I've always been incredibly clumsy.I try to drink a whole lot of water, make sure I get enough iron, don’t go too long w/o eating, stay away from sugar, and watch my allergies. I've also noticed that it gets worse when I get up too fast. Sometimes I just hit the floor if I feel it coming on so I don't fall over or break anything. It's slowly gotten better over the years, and I started taking an anti-seizure medication that seems to help even though I'm not epileptic. I get horrible migraines too, and have noticed a strong connection to allergies. Certain foods really set these off, like raw onions and garlic, and the reactions can be delayed until the next morning. It took me a while to pin this bit down. It's scary and even embarrassing, but at the very least, know that you're not alone in this. It's very discouraging when someone tells me "You just don't watch where you're going." As if I want to fall down, break or run into things!Good luck and Hope you feel better soon.

  • You can get dizzyness as a result of an infection, often a stomach infection. Did you remember having a stomach flu before it all started? If so, you could ask to be tested for yershinia, campylobacter, shigella or salmonella. Have the checked you for borrelia (lyme disease). Dizzyness is classical symptom. I wish you get well soon. I've been there myself, so I know how you feel.

I did tell this to my doctor who believes onions cannot give headaches and is not a known allergen. I've not found a solution to this yet, what about you? I try avoiding these foods as far as possible but it is really not possible always. Is there anybody you know who is allergic to onions? There are occurrences of giddiness but not to the extent that you mentioned.

  • Hi, I too have many of the symptoms you have describes.....dizziness, imbalance, etc....it is really debilitating at times. I often find it hard to function as I would like to. My doc says it is related to anxiety. I did visit and ENT and he found nothing. He agreed as well it could be anxiety. Did you ever get any answers or a diagnosis?

  • Even i am facing the light headedness feeling from the past 2 weeks. Before that I had fainted coz of low blood pressure. It's back now & much worse. The reasons are low blood pressure, weakness, dehydration & inner ear problems.I kind of get a black out & then I try to get hold of myself & dont faint. But this is really getting a toll on me as I dont' have the confidence to go out alone especially when driving or to my college.I started taking NO Xplod supplement for my exercise also.Dunno if that is causing it coz I stopped it nw.Still now its prevailing!!...I had my tests on blood pressure,ECG,all were fine then why does light headedness occur????
