My name is David and I work for a port in Florida... For the past few years we have been having problems with Pelicans and Seagulls on the concrete islands that we use to tie up mooring lines for cruise and cargo ships

When we go to work on these concrete islands.. they are often covered with bird feces and it is in a dry or fresh state. Sometimes we are told to spray them off.. sometimes we dont have an opportunity... We have been complaining about this for years.. but it has fallen on deaf ears..

Including this past monday... I had sprayed off 3 very bird feces infested concrete islands.. but monday within 15 minutes of spraying the last island i started to feel a wide variety of flu like symptoms... fever... aches .. pains... slight cough...

i did a search about how bad bird feces was.... the cdc and the military listed procedures to use when cleaning surfaces that are contaminated.. and the port was following none them... often we were wearing the same clothes for the remainer of the day... and did not get a chance to shower until we got home... then they expected us to wash our clothes in our washers..

how do i see if i have histoplasmosis.. because i have had both flue vaccines.... and none of the normal flu remadies i have used are working... this is the 4th day running...

My place of work is saying that this is just the flu and everyone is going through it.. but i am not cantagious.. no one else at my house or co workers have this..

i think i might have to get a chest xray...

what should i do?
