Hello , am 18 years old from Sri lanka.

Last 7 months am having a hole in my eardrum ! I Consulted a ENT Doctor , he said there is a hole in your eardrum and need to do a surgery but am scared? Since 3 months am using the drugs. After taking test from Audiologist , they had confirmed am having a small hearing loss...

Please advise me this may effect my hearing loss more , If i do a Surgery what will happen?

Am Planning to do Pilot training after 6 months, Does this effect my ambition?

Just for a information! is their any new technology for the hearing loss? without a mic or Hearing AID. like performing through inner ear?

Am so scared , please someone advise? it will be more helpfull

Thank you!

  • I've had a hole in my eardrum before and the surgery isn't anything to really worry about. You get put under with gas and they do the surgery. You'll have a bandage around your head and you'll have to avoid knocking it but its ok. I know a 6 year old who had it as well and she was fine with it as well.
