I'll start by saying that my 20 son has a bit of an aversion to Dr so hasn't been in about 5 years but has visited the Emerg. 3 times in the last week. symptoms? swollen glands, pain in his belly, weak, no appetite, fever, chills, pale as a ghost. His pee was bright orange?
they did x-rays' a small ultra sound, blood tests, urine test the x-ray showed his spleen enlarged as well as his neck.Lymph nodes
They said probably mono ( even though he does not have or has had a sore throat which is got mono written all over it)and sent him home with tylenol. 2 days later, back with pain in his belly ( sleen) He had an extensive ultra sound which showed an enflamed liver, and numerous spots in his neck and lower spleen and liver.
Long story short(er) Hodgkins?, he does have all the symptoms and this is often misdiagnosed. His blood tests came back again as negative for mono, then positive? they said because his liver and spleen were enlarged they were not filtering toxins in his body and his kidneys' were working overtime, as to the orange pee
Today in pain he went to emerg again, they said it's probably mono and put him in the hopital.
Hopefully they will do proper screening blood tests for Hodgkins or Mono.
