I am a male 37 old married and has 3 kids since 7 years . I tested positive HIV since two years by ELISA , WB and PCR RNA .
My wife was pregnant in my second child when I discovered that I am HIV positive . She tested at that time negative . Then after one year of my positive status she become pregnant in our third child by wrong and again tested negative HIV .
My first PCR was 11000 copies , CD4 = 560
after six months PCR = 56000
After two months PCR = 32000 , CD4=615
after six months PCR = UNDETECTABLE continuously until now four times tested
CD4 = 715
The problem in my test is the conflictions in PCR results , I tested last four undetectable PCR result in one lb and tested 28000 COPIES in othe labs with same blood sample . I can not understand why I have confliction
Same happened to my CD4 one lab result =715 OTHER LAB WITH SAME BLOOD sample showing CD4=100
I am using prednisone since I am 4 years old .because I have congenital adrenal hyperplasia I consult my doctor he said I have steroid side affect and all my lab dancing results caused by steroid use . I minimize prednisone dose from 7.5mg daily into 5mg daily then I became undetectable PCR and my
CD4 improved from 540 into 715 as per above results
Problem Do my undetectable PCR is false negative because I did with same blood samples in deferent lab ( they divided the sample by contacting with each lab technician together ) the result is high 28000 at the second lab , it might be false negative
Where I stand a false in negative or positive which one is correct .
I search over the net and i conclude that I have a chance not to be HIV positive and all my positive results cause by steroid interference .
Antibodies WB showing all positive bands and repeated 4 times during I discovered that i am positive .
I do not have any symptoms of HIV and my wife is still negative since 7 years of marriage . Doctors I have consulted not sure if I am positive or negative .
My CD4 keep going high because of steroid reduction . Please help if any one read my case has a similar issue and using prednisone as alternative medicine can advise me . Or any one face PCR results as what I faced . Or any one tell me any good words about my condition .

Note I never do sexual intercourse with any body since I got married other than my wife

  • I searched for you in a medical database called Medline, and the only article that mentions both conditions was this one. Perhaps you could ask your library to get it for you, although it's hard to say if it would really be of help because there is no description to read: 1: JAMA. 1990 Jun 6;263(21):2870.From the National Institutes of Health.Raub W.National Institutes of Health.PMID: 2110983 Related Links From the National Institutes of Health. • I am a Type I diabetic. I have had viral meningitis, MRSA, a tonscilectomy, herpangina, and mono over the past few years. After I came down with mono a few years back, I started researching the symptoms and they were very similar to early HIV infection. I am married and have had two kids with my wife over the past 5 years. When we found out we were having our 2nd child, I took an at-home HIV test to rule it out, for peace of mind. The test came back positive! I was in total shock. I have never used drugs, never had unprotected sex (other than my wife), I am not gay, and I live a pretty clean life. My wife and two child are all HIV- (after several tests). My doctor says my viral load numbers keep going down and my t-cell count is within normal range. However, he keeps telling me that I need to be on medication. Does anyone know if there is a chance that all of my other "ailments" can combine to show up as me being HIV+? No one seems to be able to tell me how I could have possibly gotten this. How did my wife and I conceive two children over 5 years having unprotected sex 2-3 times per week (totaling 750 sexual encouters) and she is still HIV-? Any advice would be much appreciated.

  • PCR has the fewest amount of false positives, yet I would recommending against testing for HIV at all due to the ridiculousness of all tests. They measure a threshold of anti-bodies basically associated with the people they originally thought had a retrovirus (HIV), but they've never actually isolated the virus. Furthermore, testing positive (despite rather revealing admission statements on the test kits) can go on your permanent record and has in many cases led to the loss of health insurance, etc. I encourage you to do your own research - and I recommend checking out the site virusmyth.net to start.

  • I shocked too for your story Mr. txconfman . It is similar to my case .We both a victim of bad medicine and unacurate HIV tests . I know all strugles you face since you labeled HIV positive . I will tell you what happend to me : 1- I enter ICU two times during last three years since I discovered that I am HIV + this is because of stress , nightmare , sleepless , sadness and also because I reduce cortisone levels that high dose will make me cope stress but I reduced it to achieve undetectable PCR . 2- I lost my work and I was in arabic country , they put me in jail then they send me by plane to my original country in a very mean way 3- In my original country I stayed one and half year without work because everybody knows my story 4- I got a very big problems from my wife family and I was about to devorce her . 5- When I heared that my wife was pregnant in the third child I shocked and cryed a lot and pray that no one will be infected . 6- Imagine the time of waiting lab result of my wife for HIV tests at first time then at second time when she become pregnant in third time . Both tests done when she was pregnant the first one in my second child , the second in my third child , imagin the stress , I was crying , shevering and almost dieng at that times 7- I test my self at so many labs , imagin how they deal with you inside these labs and how they look to you and how slow they are when they give you the result 8- My age is 38 and my father still send me a money in order to spend it to my family . 9- I become deptor person with more than 20K $ 10- I lost happiness feeling when I hold my childs and playing with them 11- Secxual intercourse with my wife become a risk course even with condoms . We both hate condoms feeling after 7 years of marriage without condoms . You understand me . 12- My testosterone level become very low due to stress and reducing steroid level . 13- I lost more than 10KG from my wieght and people start asking me are you become in AIDS stage 14- Conflicting in my CD4 and PCR RNA results made me mad and crazy and nervous all the time . 15- My wife standing with me and accept me as I am but I feel very guilty for not leaving her . Maybe she will marry a healthy man . 16- Everyday Iam thinking in my kids what reaction they will have towards me when they dicover that I am HIV + in future . Very bad thinking and feeling in my mind Mr. Txconfman I adviise not to accept your labs result and keep repeat WB , CD4 and PCR tests at so many places even outside your country I am sure that both of us will have a negative status one day . By the way I thing you used steroid for some medication of your ailements and maybe this interfere with your HIV result like my case , you have to work with this and search at net about all your medicine that you took during last years I am sure you have interference factor problem Please keep contact me . I live in Jordan and I am the only man that I can understand your feeling because your story is similar to my story Thanks:(

  • Fairouz94, Thank you for your reply. I feel bad for you. It seems like you have been through a lot. I am glad your wife and kids have stayed with you and they appear to be healthy. That is good news! How were you diagnosed with HIV? Were you showing any symptoms? Or did you just get tested on your own? I did it just to make myself stop worrying about it, since I worry about stuff like that all the time. I did not expect for the result to come back as positive. I still can't believe it. It has been two years since that first test and I am healthier now than I have ever been. But, my HIV doctor keeps telling me to take medicine. He says the standards have changed and even though my numbers are getting better and better, I still need to take the meds. I told him I do not want to take medicines that could make me sick. Are you on any medications right now? I look forward to hearing back from you, Mr. Fairouz94. Take care.
