hi

six months ago i was hit by a car crossing the street. i flew close to twenty feet. i have no idea how i am okay

i landed exactly on my rear end. that is where all the pressure / impact came from

now these many months later i onlly know i have herniated disc in C5-C6. oh. it took a month to realize i had a fractured tibula and fibula. but it didn't require surgery or a cast.

but i have had these symtoms for awhile.

my right hip is an inch higher than the left
i know walk with a limp
the left side of my back is bigger and puffed out. if i lift anything it seems to get more swollen - larger

the right side of my body has atrophied. it feels like the shoulder is going to fall out. i had surgery on my right shoulder over 20 years ago. have not had one problem since

right side of back is flat

there are some other things but that is not on the top of my life

so far no doctor will really look at me. have a nice back / spine doc but he just put me in to physcial therapy. i've done physical therapy before. this is the first time i truly feel it is an utter waste.

nobody knows what is wrong?

i did not know this would be an issue with doctors. i never knew this till maybe ten years ago. i have mild scoliosis. i would mention it to girlfriends and they would laugh at me because they thought i was lying.

i have no idea what doctor to see. what doctor will truly look at the cause ad effect of the accident.

i had an enormous bruise on my left upper leg and rear from the accident. my right didn't have anything.

i just want help. it's just awful searching and searching week after week and getting nowhere.

thank you

reese

hope everyone is doing okay - alright. thanks agian

  • Get a second opinion with another orthopedist. But also... Friend, these things take a long time to heal up, and sometimes they don't heal up entirely. You have to find out what your personal best is. I think your doctor is right about physical therapy. Try to stick with it. It's worth it.

  • I too was hit by a speeding car 2 years ago. I still have a limp, I have NASTY headaches and what I call 'seizures' but the doctors don't. I still have a massively sore narly mass in my right upper thigh. My headaches come and go and I have neck aches all the time. The GREAT thing is - I am alive! I get to see my son, my grandchild, and wife over and over again. When the other driver hit me while picking up a sitck at the edge of the street, it was truly the closest I can akin to dying. I was tossed 25+ feet and woke up with a stick in my rear from a tree limb along my high arc path. The best I can offer is that although the pains may never go away, you are stronger for it and I just look at is as some child didn't die instead of me. At 60 this has been REALLY ******n me. I have ben unemployed since and I hate that probably more than the pains. I guess I just realized that each day is a gift and although there is some promise that the real problems are neck and spine related, they may heal in time and I hope I'll live long enough to feel that but for now, I feel a whole lot better knowing I AM ALIVE for today. Buck up, you DID get to write the comment above and read mine. Just know when God really wants you, you WILL come home!
