I have read a few postings before I submitted this thread just to get an idea of how this system works. It seems like there are numerous postings concerning joint pain - - which is interesting (maybe the enlightened ones can comment on this)...is joint pain so multi causal that it is hard to put a medical finger on exactly what the problem is?

Also - any hypotheses as to why I have joint pain in my hips, shoulders, elbows, and lower back. I'm 24 yo and in generally good health. These pains are causing me to lose sleep which causes my mind to reel about the next day. I had previously been diagnosed with erliciosis (sp?) about a year ago after a 103.7 degree fever and severe joint pain - - much like now, without a fever. I was treatment with dyoxycycline for two weeks, and recovered quickly. No further problems until now, no fever, no current meds, healthy weight and diet. I'm always cold, and my nailbeds are blue.

Could this be stress? anxiety?

  • It could possibly be Rheumatoid Arthritis. I have RA and have pain in all places you mentioned and more. (including the jaw.....makes it hard to chew food, or just eat anything)....

  • If you have had multiple test, as I did, CBC, X-Rays, CT-Scan, Pelvic, etc...and everything is okay in your doctor's opinion, I will tell you, it could be Fibromyalgia which you can thoroughly research on this site and many othe web sites, or you need to be put on a medication called Cymbalta. I know, you are probably thinking what I thought if you are familiar with what it treats, but after all these test and no relief, I was willing to try anything to stop the pain. After a month, I feel completely relieved, physically and mentally. I don't know if this would help you, but I will speak for myself, whether it was depression (I just had a baby in Aug.?) or a problem not yet diagnosable, I am feeling such relief and I would recommend looking into it. Hope this helps and good luck, I know what chronic pain with no help can do!
