I have pain in the groin - inner thigh. Is this a symptom of a hip problem?

  • Yes, it can be. Look up hip pain on medline.com. But also there are about a hundred other reasons. If you are a man, check the family jewels. If you are an athlete, maybe you have a groin pull.

  • I am a Male 56, very active. I'm getting another opinion today (another Orthopedic Surgeon). Could Lyme Disease cause such spasms in the inner thigh / groin?

  • Why don't you think it is a groin pull from sports?

  • That is what I thought it was. Plus I had Lyme Disease at the same time. After the Lyme med. I still had the groin / inner thigh pain. I went for x-rays and the Orthopedic Doctor said that I had Arthritis in the hips and they had to be removed. Today I scheduled to replace one in several weeks.

  • Look up osteitis pubis. Prevalent in sports. Leg length discrepancy?
