My Mother was diagnosed with type II Diabetes two months ago. On 19 July she was diagnosed by her GP with a UTI and sent home with antibiotics. She was admitted to the Hospital on 20 July with a fever of 103 and severe lower abdominal pain centralized around her bladder area but running across her entire lower abdomen and nausea. Her pain is still severe. She describes it a a stabbing pain. She is swaeting so much that the sheets get soaked.

They have done a CT scan, stomach x-ray, bladder ultrasound, urine culture and blood tests. Everything has turned out negative. Now Infectious disease specialists are saying she might have Epstein-Barr virus or Cytomeglovirus and are testing her for that. They have her on morphine and have used 4+ different IV antibiotics to try to get her fever down but nothing has worked. Has anyone else ever seen similar symptoms? I am concerned that they are treating her with so many Antibiotics when they now think she might have a virus.

Thank you all for any feedback or ideas.
