Hello everyone. My name is Danielle and I am the very proud mommy of two beautiful children Alina Marie who just turned two and John Anthony 'tony' who is almost 7 months.

My question is about my eldest child Alina. She in general is a very wonderful child but there is something going on with her and I can't figure out what it is and I was hoping you could help. Ever since she was a baby shes gotten sick very easily, between the ages of 9 and 18 months she was hospitalized 4 times for dehydration. Everytime she gets sick she gets dehydrated and is hospitalized no matter what. About a month ago she was bitten by a rabbit and despite everything she ended up with an infection that made her ill and had to have the stitches removed early. She loses weight very quickly and suddenly. (She went from a bit over 24 lbs to 21 in just about a month.) She eats fine, so thats not an issue. Shes been tested for diabetes but that came back negative. Though also when she gets sick her sugars go whacky. Once they were at 294 and we were sent to a childrens hospital and they couldn't figure it out. Next time she got sick a few weeks later they were in the 60's.

I know that was longwinded. I'm sorry. Any ideas though?

Thank you for any help you could give.

  • I just saw a special on the cable medical channel. You might want to check it out. It was on the Mystery Diagnoses program. Something about the blood cell. You might want to check it out.
