Hi, My father is 83, with problem of walking which got worsened in 3 months to getting out of bed. He all the time needs someone ext to bed to even get up & can not sit without back support but falls on the bed if support is withdrawn. He needs to be lifted to make sit on wheel chair. Doctor took out 30ml excess cerebral fluid from spinal cord saying optimal fluid would improve condition. We also gave him 2 packets of blood improving his hemoglobin from 10.2 to 13.6 He was discharged from hospital with all tests good & within limits except for vitamin B12 in excess(1200 pg/ml), salt below limit. Doctors have given up hope saying it would be only physiotherapy that can help if at all. We are administering fluid intake of 1.5 liter of water with electrolytes & salt, Diabetes tablets regularly with oil massage & physiotherapy. However we are yet to see any improvement. Day by day health is deteriorating instead of improving. We do not know what is the problem & how to improve muscle strength so as to sit & get up & start walking on his own.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
