Herpes Misdiagnosis???

I believe I have been misdiagnosed with herpes. When I went to get tested, the doctor looked at my sores and basically decided right away that I had the disease. She said I had swollen lymps so that confirmed her decision. This was my first time seeing this doctor so she does not know my medical history. I was so hysterical that I didn’t think to mention that I suffer from boils under my arms and around my vaginal area. Where she was feeling for my lymps is where I get boils that sometimes never surface, so to someone who doesn’t know that it seems like my glands are swollen. I was also sick when I went to see her with a fever and a sore throat.

I really do not believe I have herpes. I don’t know if anyone has been misdiagnosed with herpes and I would like to know what herpes is often confused with.

Please help me.

Thank you

  • Are we talking herpes 1 or 2? She should have scraped the sore or had blood drawn to confirm her diagnosis. With your history of boils, it was necessary. Change doctors or go back and ask for individual blood tests for herpes 1 and herpes 2. MRSA is also causing sores, so it is important to know what this is.
