I have had insomnia (can't stay asleep) for about 1.5 yrs. Symptoms include:
facial flushing and heat, muscle weakness, especially in lower extremeties, right side tonsil and gland under jaw is tender and sore, shaking sensation (tremor-like) accompanied by anxiety/nervous like symptoms, but not true anxiety or nervousness.
My family doc ran a thyroid panal, cbc, mono test, etc. All blood work looks fine. Tried several SSRI's that did not help (side effects were worse than the disease. Benzdiazepines help with sleep somewhat, but do not relieve the symptoms totally during the day.
Could this be endocrine (Hormonal) or neurologic in nature?? I am a 43 yr old male in good health prior to this event.
Thank you for your help in advance
