Hello, this is the first time I've been able to sit up without dizziness or "heartburn" for about the past 15 hours.

I have not urinated in almost a day and am constipated (I have tried both, but nothing happens.)
I have sharp pains (I suppose they could be categorized as cramps) in my mid-abdominal area. To be honest, it feels as if maybe my stomach (intestines) are trying to push food either back up or right through. Whatever it is, it really hurts when it happens (I would say the pains come and go almost like contractions, except I am a 21 year old male so I guess I don't know what they feel like)
I have vomited 5 times since 3am EST. (wake up, vomit, wake up, vomit etc.). It tastes like bile, but whatever it is, it's very acidic and I rinse my mouth out after. The yellowish/green color of bile is absent.
I have tried taking TUMS to settle my stomach down. The 2nd time I did, I vomited it up. I only know this because of the strawberry & banana aftertaste (mixed with the biliary taste). If I consume water, I only vomit that up, too.

Any help, or suggestions will be appreciated.

  • i don't want to alarm you, but i would call your primary right now or go to the ER. it will probably turn out not to be anything life-threatening, but you have a couple of symptoms that require immediate attention. at the very least you need fluids, considering that you haven't urinated in a while. please go and make sure that this isn't anything dangerous. be sure you tell the triage person you haven't urinated in 24 hours. good luck. • I agree with Luna. If you are not able to keep fluids down you need to go to the ER. Hope you feel better soon... Kiera

  • I've vomited twice since posting this... I was able to drink some water, and am drinking "Gatorade Propel" right now. My throat feels damaged from all of the acidic vomit. Hopefully that goes away. I also have tonsil stones, tons of those have been dislodged. My stomach (intestines?) still feels knotted up. I was able to urinate briefly... it was very cloudy. Just trying to hydrate now with this "Propel".Thank you two for your help... I have my cellphone with me in case I worsen, but thankfully, it appears that I am getting better. I might try to eat later.PS: Pharmacist my mother spoke with said it sounds like "Staph Food Poisoning". I wouldn't wish this on anyone!

  • Have you urinated yet? You still might need to go to the ER for some fluids, to make sure you pee. Marionstar

  • not peeing and vomiting isnt a good sign... i agree with what the others have said... a trip to the ER may be a good idea.

  • went to the ER this morning... diagnosis is "probably bacterial gastroenteritis"... was given 1.5 liters of saline while there... had a CT scan and everything.
