5 wees ago I was diagnosed with swine flu. After day 5 i noticed an itch on my butt. the itch persisted and eventually started spreading to other parts of my body (legs, chest, arms - never genitals or face). It would get so bad at night that i would wake up just to scratch, and was cutting myself from involuntary scracthing. About 3 weeks ago the itch began presenting itself in 3 different ways on my skin:
1 - on my butt cheeks i have 6-8 dime-sized red bumps that have itched and not gone away after 3 weeks. The bumps dont seem to be puss filled, nor are they tender to touch.
2- Two hard blisters on my hands and 1 on my foot
3- seveal small red bumps (sometime solitary, sometimes in groups) that occasionally itch and seem to disappear and move to new random part of body after a day or 2. They are disimilar in size and texture from the ones on butt.
My general practitioner first treated it as an allergic reaction with anti-hystemines and hydrocortizone cream. When that didt work they skin scraped me for scabies (found none) and I underwent the scabies treatment (and sterilized my house/clohes). When that didnt seem to work I saw a dermatologist at my school's clinic and she said whatever it was seemed to be healing, and therefore she couldnt skin-scrape to test the bumps. When i saw the dermatologist my itching had subsided by about 80% and it indeed seemed it was going away. However, the itching and bumps resumed today. And i have 2 more of those dime-sized persistent bumps on my butt.
I dont know what else to do or where to go. I'm getting scared that these bumps are going to spread, could be permenant, could be contagius, or could be the expression of an underlying issue. What doctors should I see and what tests should i request??
