hi all,
There is this friendly 'feral' cat that has been living around my home for several months now. I've been treating it as a 'pet' for quite some time now. But this cat tried to bite me (when i tried to push it into a shade to protect it from the rain) , and i pulled my hand away before it could bite.though there are NO bite wounds, some saliva might have been rubbed onto my skin. Well, my hand has no previous injuries - just a scar that I got from chickenpox months ago. is it possible that rabies can be transmitted form a lick ?

And, this animal (a female ) has been making a low whining and continuous sound (as if it is mourning). But, i have also seen other cats, possibly males, around it. Could this sound be an indicator of rabies ?? or is it just a mating call ??

Thanks

Viruses are small, and can get into you via openings in the skin that are too small for you to see. Thanks You're welcome. If you are worried about rabies, then instead of posting on an internet site, you should get the cat tested......
