Hi ,y father was first taken to hospital after suffering an A.F (Where your heart beats out of rythmn uncontrolably). He was short of breathe, phyically weak, confused and scared. He had severe chest pain.
The doctors put him on Warfarin and beatablockers.
On visiting him I noticed his chest looked swollen, he mentioned this tho the cardiologist who told him he was a 'heart doctor, not a body doctor!!!!) amazingly he didn't refer him to anyone else regarding his complaint. The doctors told my dad the top of his heart was scarred from the pericoronitis he had diagnosed 6 years previously.....of which the doctor hadn't treated, but let my dad to get better on his own!
Dad's blood pressure is very low, doctors didn't know why and didnt investicate any further. His inr went to 2.2 so they released him and he passed a tredmilll test with no incident apart from the A.F.
He went home, couldn't walk a few steps as he was too breatheless, in pain in his chest and tired.
Today he saw his doctor and his inr, was 1.2, his chest is swollen, he's in severe pain with his chest, his breathing is shallow and strained. He is dizzy, tired and loosing hope. He has to wait till next week to hear when hor if he can go for a ct scan. My dad was a fit army chap who was phyically fit. Now he is an old scared man. No one is helping, or looking at whats causing his problems.
Can anyone help........please. we are desparate.

  • I suggest getting a new cardiologist and lung specialist right away post your location maybe someone could give a good referral .ER's and ER doctors don't help much and they could or should have done and CT scan right then and there if you need to go back and demand that be done!!!!God bless your family
