Hi! This might be a bit long, so I'm sorry.

I've had stomach pains on and off forever, nothing too painfull just LOTS of discomforts and slight pains (bowel movement is usually fine). I went to a gastroenterologist in September and told her I suspected Celiac Disease. She did blood work and one of the sprue came back positive. She scheduled an endoscopy and colonoscopy which I have on Valentines day to confirm celiac.

Now in December I started getting pain on my upper right side under my ribs radiating to my back every time after I ate (specially something with fat or gluten in it). It gradually became worse with the passing month and now in January I have the pain/gnawing constantly. I went to the E.R. one day with pain suspecting gallbladder issues. They did blood work, cat scans, x-rays, ultrasounds of my gallbladder, liver, pancreas, spleen. Everything came back normal. I had a HIDA Scan done and also came back normal. The only thing that has shown up is anemia, a VERY small cyst in my kidney and ovary and funnily enough a cracked rib (no idea how I got that!).

Now my pain just bothers me even when I drink a glass of water or IMMEDIATELY after I eat or drink anything. It sometimes goes away, but not for long and it has moved closer to the middle of my body, but still on the right side.

Now last night another pain woke me up, it is the same kind of gnawing pain but sharper down by my navel on the right side. It hurts quite a bit, but I don't think its appendicitis because it comes and goes (mostly comes). It's specially bad if I breath deeply or lay on my right side.

The Doctor is not sure what it could be, any of it, so I was hoping someone had some insight. I have lost nearly 10 pounds this month and I'm just going crazy with the constant pain and discomfort.

Thanks!!! ... and again sorry for the length.

  • HiSorry to hear about your issues, I know how you feel. Among other things, I have a similar problem. I too suspect gall bladder issues as my mother has had hers removed to overcome this problem. However, I had a CT in August which showed nothing.I have since learnt from some of the good people on this site that scans and ultrasounds cannot detect certain types of stones! Somebody has suggested googling "gall bladder cleanse" and trying that. I'm going to have a go I think!Good Luck
