Okay first of all I am 17 years old. Im the type that catches everything coming and going. My whole life I've been getting sick a lot it seems. When I was about 6 or 7 I had ear tubes put in my ears, when I was 9 I had my tonsils and adnoids removed, and when I was 15 I had my gall bladder removed. Right before I had my gall bladder removed the gastrologist did a test (I can't remember what it was called but he ran a tube down my throat to see in my stomach) and he said I didn't have any ulcers, so then he did a test on me to see if it was my gall bladder. My gall bladder was only working 16% when it should have been atleast 30% he said. For the past 2 months I have had strange white looking stuff in my stool and after I go to the bath room it burns. The burning feeling has gotten worse this past week and there is more infection (atleast I think thats what it is) in my stool! About an hour ago I went to the bathroom and the pain was so bad I was in tears. It's gross to talk about but I need some suggestions on what this might be. Also the water was really dark after I went to the bathroom tonight. I went to the doctor last week and he sent me to the lab to get blood work and I had to give them a stool sample. Well the people at the lab said it would be atleast 3 days before the results of my stool sample came back, and the next morning my doctor's office called and said it was all normal. If it is normal why is there white stuff in my stool, why am I hurting so bad afterwards, and why didn't this happen to me all my life if its "normal"? My grandma had bowel problems and right before she died her bowels busted. There wasn't anything they could do either. I don't want to end up like that. Also my aunt has bowel problems, they think she has IBS but they have told her numerous things she had besides that. Every doctor tells her something different. So bowel problems run in my family on my mom's side. And colon problems run in my family on my dad's side, my dad's father had colon cancer. Any suggestions and advice is greatly appreciated!

  • anyone? i was in a lot of pain again tonight after eating. i went to the bathroom and it felt like i was going to explode!Hun im sorry ur not well, i wish i could give u an answer, it could be IBS. there are other tests they can do apart from stool samples, go back to ur docs. A friend of mine had crones disease & uclerated colitis (dont know if spelling is right) she had all those problems & took them a while to diagnose it....go back to ur doctors. This is probably of no use to u but i wanted to say something to u as u seem destressed. Good luck :) & a hug

  • Hi, you really are having a hard time and sound upset...resonably so! I might take a guess at some digestive problems like IBS. My suggestion to you is to keep track for a while (this will take determination) what you are eating. Write it all down. There are many people who have food sensitivities (not allergies which show up on blood work and other tests) and that may be causing your problems. It is possible you are unable to digest certain foods well and they are ending up as white chuncks in your stools.Burning from the rectum may be hemorrhoids....you may even see a bit of blood...it is just a bit of swollen tissue and not serious disease or anything and will go away with some help. This can be easily seem by a doctor, but there are self cures as well. Eat food easily digested and will make for soft stools and easier to come out....high fibers like prunes will soften the stools...bananas for example will not...they tend to be binding...milk an cheeses will make stools hard as well....bran cereals and green vegetables are all good to soften stools. You can also by over the counter hemorrhoid help...a special wet wipe that helps shrink the hemorrhoid....I had these also at a young age....it is embarassing, maybe, but not some horrible disease! : )So 1. keep track of what you eat (you may later try eliminating things to see if you have any sensitivities) 2. Stick with a high fiber diet that will soften your stools and let them pass more easily 3. try over the counter hemorrhoid wet pipes or creams.Hope this helps...you will be ok! Joan
