I have chronic pain for which I cannot get a diagnosis.
Depending on severity, the sensation is:
1) Electric- like hair standing on end near static electricity (Obviously at this severity it is not really "pain").
2) Irritation- as if the area should be red and swollen.
3) Biting- like I have two to six ants biting me periodically.
4) Splinters- like I have two to six deeply embedded splinters.
If the splinter sensation persists for several hours I develop a red "pimple" at each splinter location. Other than that there are no visible symptoms.
The sensation is usually most pronounced on my upper thighs (where my pants rub). It can also occur on my torso and occasionally on other parts of my body. It gets worse when I am exposed to dust, and does not diminish until I wash the affected clothes. The pain is worse during winter.
Please help. The pain is severe enough that this thing controls my life. Any responses would be appreciated.
