A week or 2 ago i had a mini surgery in my mouth to get a wisdoom tooth out. After i was pretty much better i started getting this terrible pain in the side of my throat. I thought that it was just some small infection and it would go away. Well it did but i got now a anthoer big problem. For the past few days i have some weird AWFUL pain undermy armpits. In both sides it feels like swelling and every time i touch it hurts so bad i burst into tears. I know this isnt some shaving thing because its very differnet and im certain its not some allergy. I dont know what this is and the pain seems to get worse. I cant even open my arm all the way up because the pain is so bad i cry. I told my mom but she said its probably nothing. Well its gotten worse and i think i should go to the doctor but im scared. What do you guys think it is? It scares me cause im only 15. I never ever had such terrible pain in my armpits like this. Can you guys help? Thank you.

  • Hi sweetie, You have swollen glands under your arms. It could be caused by an infection in your gums that was aggravated when they took the wisdom tooth out or an infection that started after. In any case you should see the doctor and have him run a white blood cell count among other tests for infections. Try not to worry. Those glands are there to protect us. Kiera

  • First of all, if the doctor gave you antibiotics for the surgery make sure you take ALL of them. Second, do you have a fever?

  • Im no doctor but I agree with what the others have said. You have glands in your throat and under your arms which could go up in infections. Sounds like the tooth removal has given you an infection of some kind. This may go by itself or you could need antibiotics. Try not to panic. Take your temperature and if it's up.. maybe it will convince your mother to take you to the doctor. I sympathize as I had one of those mothers who used to rush me to the doctors for stupid things but when it came to things I should of been taken to doctors for.. she never thought it was important.
