i went to the hospital on sunday with bloody bowels. and because there was so much blood they kept me over night so they could do a colonoscopy on monday. monday morning they did the enema's to clean me out and i wasnt bleeding anymore. at 11:30 i had the colonoscopy and they found nothing, not even a hemroid. its been 4 days since the procedure and my side is cramping still, i get bouts of diarrea, and then i get nauseas and vomit. if someone can help me figure out what is wrong, let me know, the bloody stool has happend before but there wasnt as much blood so i ignored it.

  • Did they test you for crohn, coeliac disease?? Do you have other symptoms? Anything in your body that you feel sometimes? Do you have acid reflux, did you lose or gain weight? Just need more info and i'll try to help you.

  • You do not have any dizyness, fatigue...?You coud have lyme disease...The standard test are not accurate, but I dont know because you do not have other symptoms... If you do get more, you need to seek a lyme literate doctor on lymenet. I had very much bowel symptoms before getting more and more sick...I had itchy anus, blood in it and irritable bowel. For now, this is what I suggest you ok: Do a gluten free diet. Look on internet. You could be celiac or just reactiong to gluten. Stop beer. Stop sugar. That will help you in any diseases anyway... Take probiotics, 3 caps a day. If any more symptoms: pain, numness, dizyness, fatigue, look on canlyme for symptoms of lyme disease chronic and lymenet for a lyme specialist. That is all I can tell you right now. Take garlic, or buy garlic pills ok. Bebye

  • It could just be food poisoning... Or a duodenal ulcer http://wrongdiagnosis.com/d/duodenal_ulcer/intro.htm Where is the cramping, which side is it on, and is it in the lower or upper abdomen? Do you have a fever?

  • i just turned 23 last weekend.... the cramping is in the middle above my bellybutton.... when i had my first daughter 5 years ago, they accidently nicked my intestines when i was in for a c-section.... right after that i had an infection in my bowels. they gave me antibiotics and it went away, but ever since then ive had irregualrity and one day i wont be able to go at all, and the next i have diarrea.... and most of the time ill get nauseas with it.

  • It sounds to me like you're having intermittent partial small bowel obstruction due to adhesions.

  • but wouldnt they have noticed that with the colonoscopy?

  • No,since it shows only the colon, not the small intestine.

  • Have they done a STOOL TEST? I can't understand why doctors will jump to a colonoscopy and don't even call for a stool exam. (well, yes I can as you make a lot more $$ doing a colonoscopy:(). You should have been tested for parasites, giardia, e coli, clostridium difficile infection, and others. Best wishesDOM

  • yeah they did a stool test, or at least i think they did, they made me go in a cup. they made me feel stupid, after the colonoscopy when they found nothing they sent in a gynocologyist, they thought i was on my menstruation. she ruled that one out real fast. i just hope they figure out something soon, ive been in the bathroom 4 times today with a loose stool
