About five years ago I had gallbladder surgery.I had several other surgeries within the next year and a half.I now suffer from chronic upper right pain, excactly were the ballbladder was taken out.The pain has been a constant. It does NOT go and come.It is dull at times and almost unbearable at other times.I have been sent for so many test that my Doctor can't think of anything else to test me on.While I do believe in my Doctor I know this pain is real and painful.Somebody help me please.

  • Did you physician check for adhesions it is a common complication of abdominal surgery. We build up scar tissue and wen it is stretched out it is painful. Just about any movement can cause the discomfort.

  • IME about half of those that get gall bladders removed continue to have pain. And did your surgeon tell you that you "don't need" a gallbladder ?This is commonly told, but since you cannot store bile (liver makes it, gallbladder concentrates and stores it) you cannot digest fat properly. You may want to find a local natural health pro that knows about this and try some bile salts as supplements to help with the fat digestion. Good fats and proper digestion is needed for many parts of the body to work well. The best bile salt supplements I am aware of are made by Standard Process and are available thru health pros only.

  • Please try acupuncture. I have been successfully treating GB and Liver disease for over 4 years now. It really helps! Try to find one who also specializes in Chinese herbal medicine. Visit www.acufinder.com for more info and to find a practitioner near you. Best wishes.DOM
