My friend was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and she uses KetoStix (ketone testing) strips, I used one because I was curious to see if I had any because I have been feeling very unwell and tired lately, the strip revealed that I have moderate amount of ketones- is this bad? what should I do?

  • You need to get it checked. It could be indicative of a diabetic state or it could be down to an inadequate diet. It could also be a side effect of any medication you are taking.

  • Were you on a protein diet like Atkin's? Have you been restricting your carbo intake? Atkin's dieters use keto-stix to make sure that their diet is working.
