He originally started out with pain in his stomach, right where your ribs start to split apart, but the pain has now moved up into the middle of his chest. He has absolutely no appetite, feels full after 2-3 bites. He's very very weak, but then this has been going on for 3 weeks. He has horrible insomnia, this symptom has been there from the very beginning. He saved up about $300.00 & went to the Doctor. They just called & said his white cell & liver counts were elevated. Nausea - but VERY little. He is a smoker, but hasn't had a cigarette in 3 weeks & has no desire for 1 now. But, nor is he spitting up or coughinh up any phelgm. This 1 neither of us understand, as he has smoked for 30 years, he should be spiiting something up. Any help at all - would be greatly appreciated! He is it, my only relative. We live 1300 miles apart & he has no one to take care of him. PLEASE HELP!!!

  • Look up Diaphragmatic herniation of the stomach, and maybe GERD. If those don't seem right tell me why.

  • I had similar symptoms and was misdiagnosed with an ulcer after going to the emergency room with severe pain. After a month I had to go back to the ER because nothing I did made it any better. I had the elevated liver counts and cells and the pain was in the top part of my stomach-ish area, and usually only hurt after eating.. as it turns out I had gall stones, and when the bile would attempt to flush into the stomach to digest food the stones would go up to my biliary tube and get stuck and cause pain. I ended up having my gallbladder removed, and still had pain so they did an ERCP procedure and found another stone lodged in my bile duct. Two stones were found. Eversince it was removed I've had no problems there. I'd request an ultra-sound and an ERCP maybe.
