Help me Diagnose my Grandfather!!! Cant Swallow! Whats wrong?
My grandfather had trouble swallowing about 6 months ago. It got progressively worse to where he couldn't even clench his mouth. Other then that he was more less healthy. He still wasnt eating since he said he could not swallow- my grandma was pureeing his food. We went to carediologists, the neurologist, we saw a throat specialist, nothing. In january on his way back from feeding his horses he couldnt breath and he ran to the house and collapsed on the stairs. We rushed him to the ER and they told us he suffered a heart attack. Since then he has had surgery where we found 40% blockage in two arteries. They also inserted a g-peg tube so we could administer nutrition and his medication. We still have not found out what is causing this. Nothing with the jaw the dentist says, the throat specialist says he is fine, nothing wrong with his throat or muscles as he could see and he even passed the swallowing test. The cardiologist says his heart is doing fine. The neurologist says the scans so far look good.
We did have him take a test to see if he was positive for Myasthenia Gravis and are waiting results from the Mayo Clinic. So far we are giving him medicine to see if it works while we wait for results. About two years ago he had eye surgery because he had ptosis (droopy eyelid), he surgery again last november because he had it again in the other eye.
Here is his medication list:
