Hi. I know many of you have frustrations with not knowing about what illnesses you have and hopefully I can get some insight.

I am 20 years old and since I was 15 I have had so many problems with my body. At 16 years old I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. At 19 I started having bowel problems and blood in stool which the doctor concluded after colonoscopy that it was IBS (meaning he's not sure whats causing it). Then in May (4 months ago now) of this year I got viral meningitis (at least thats what we think it was). We didn't do a spinal tap). And then I recently went to an endocrinologist and she said I have an enlarged thyroid but my bloodwork came back normal!

So now on to the symptoms I am currently experiencing:

Cannot lose weight (I work out a lot. I am a taekwondo athlete and workout at least 9 hours a week. I'm about 143 at 5'1")
Pelvic pain (even though my ovarian cysts are under control)
Pelvic congestion (according to my gyno)
Hair loss (recent)
Brittle nails
Severe neck pain (from meningitis?)
Frequent headaches (mostly at night)
Forgetfulness (definitely more than normal) & Brain fog
Constipation but then will come out as diarrhea
Sciatica (from meningitis?)
Radial Nerve Palsy (from meningitis?)
Enlarged thyroid (or parathyroid?)
Low grade fever (lasting so far for 3 days currently. Went up to about 101 today)
Bloating
Pelvic Twitching
No motivation
TIRED ALL THE TIME (It's ridiculous really. I'm sleeping my life away)
Depression
Dry Skin and Hair
Always cold!
Random aches (especially in knees)
Indigestion very frequently

And I'm not sure if I forgot any but I'll post again if I did. I hope someone can help me because the doctors aren't. I know a lot of my symptoms align with hypothyroidism but my bloodwork was normal. But I have a thyroid ultrasound tomorrow to see why it's englarged.

  • Oh I also have frequent mouth sores that are white with raised red edges and I had a weird flappy red sore one time.

  • And all of your thyroid functions came back normal? I had some of those symptoms and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism (under active). Has you dr checked all of your hormone levels?
