I started my periods when I was 12 and they started off being extremely irregular, painful and very heavy. When I was around 13 I had tissue loss from the lining of the womb which basically looked like a 2inch square of inch thick flesh. Around that time I was put on the contraceptive pill. I started off on Microgynon. It regulated when I had my periods but they were still painful and extremely heavy. When I say heavy I mean beyond any normal sanitary protection and I can't leave the house when I'm on otherwise I will leak. I was on Microgynon for a few years but the periods were still interupting my life and education. In February of 2007 I tried out the progesterone only pill to see if it would help. It gave me a constant period for 2 months, made me put on 2 stone and gave me stretch marks covering my legs. I then went on to Cilest which I recently had to switch from because of breakthrough bleeding and am currently on Yasmin. When I was 14 I had an ultrasound which showed cysts on my ovaries that the doctor said was normal for a girl my age. I am now 19, still struggling with these heavy periods that are distrupting my life and have no diagnosis. I still get the tissue loss aswell. I also suffer from IBS. I am going to have another ultrasound sometime soon- hopefully.
I don't think I've missed anything out but will add if I have.
I would appreciate any help as obviously this is completely disrupting my life and has done for 7 years.
