I am 39 year old female who is healthy. I have great blood pressure. Ijust had tons of test run less than 6 months ago with a glowing report. We have no history of heart disease or lung disease in our family.

Currently I am feeling like my heart is beating hard-like I can feel it. It also feel like it is beating fast. It is not constant, but enough to raise a concern. I also have a cough that accompanies this. It is not painful.

I am going to make an appointment after the weekend is up. My feeling is that it may be anxiety since I am under a great deal of stress right now.

Any suggestion?

  • Its possible that its anxiety, if you are under more stress than usual and are experiencing an increased heart rate.Id say go have it checked anyway but if you can, try some relaxation techniques, yoga, swimming, or a simple quiet bath. Take yourself to a quiet place where you wont be disturbed and try and calm yourself and then in turn think about each area in your life, work, family, finances. If you get to an area that you'd much rather not think about or start to have a beating heart over, it is probably this subject matter that is causing you the most stress. I realise that probably sounds logical and I dont wish it to sound patronising, but once youve isolated what is causing the most stress it is easier to resolve if you can start to look at it rationally and in a calm manner, rather than ignore it and hope it will sort itself out if it seems too big a "thing" to deal with.Hope this helps
