For many years i have suffered with a collection of reoccurent symptoms and ailments that i seem to run round in circles finding good treatment or advice for. I find doctors very unsupportive in their 10 minute slots for advice as they always - regardless of my issue at that time - bring the cause of my issue down to my obesity. You have a rash, it's because your fat, UTI? because your fat, Period problems, you got it, because your fat.
The funny thing is that they don't offer me support for my obesity. They - as one GP kindly contributed - feel that if i ate less and exercised more i would lose weight. If it wasn't for the fact that i lead a more active and heatlhier lifestyle than (probably) half of them, i would be inclined to agree. So i'm finally getting to the point of describing to you lovely forum users my reoccurring symptoms in hope that someone is experiencing similar things or can give some worldy knowledge on what on earth may be going wrong.
I have never had a regular period. POP contrceptive made me bleed continuously for six months - even though i stopped it after two. This also happened the first time i took them when i was 16. My periods stay for weeks sometimes then - poof - they vanish. I haven't had a period in three months.
If you haven't guessed, i cannot control my weight. I am five stone over weight. I am vegan. I excercise, take my vitamins ya ya blah .... and i am devestated to find i have put on half a stone over the past two weeks without even the whiff of eating anything worthing putting the weight on with.
I have regular bouts of tonsilitis and throat infections, infections galore. fungal, urine, ear, throat, kidney.
I have nevr had a normal bowel movement in my life. Loose to chronic constipation. It can vary from seven times a day to once a month.
I suffer severe heartburn and acid reflux. Rennies are a staple part of my diet.
I am always cold, always. I have just been to Africa where everyone looked at me like i was derranged when i wore a cardigan.
I suffer from water retention regularly.
Periods of acute lethargy and extreme tiredness. Sleeping for prolonged periods of time or feeling an urgency to sleep. I slept for 18 hours the other day.Not the best way to spend my day off.
I know i sound like i am moaning. I may not even get any posts to this rant but for ten years i have had these effect me on a week to week basis. I have only been given ways to treat the symptoms but no input on the causes. I'm starting to feel like i'm banging my head against a brick wall.
cheers for listening
