lately i have been experiencing a numbing sensation up the left side of my back and sometimes the back of my head, my legs sometimes go weak and i get a tingling sensation in my feet, i have history of stroke, i had several when i was 39 and lost the use of my right arm, although i learnt to use my arm and hand again i have of late started dropping things quite alot, this is annoying as i am a tomato picker and speed is of the essence to keep my job, when i had an MRI in 2003 it showed 7 dead spots in my brain, is it possible that i have been mis-diagnosed? as the drs could not find anything medical that caused the strokes, is it possible that it was not a stroke that effected my right arm, because usually a stroke on the right side effects the whole right side and speech? i had a follow with the neurologist 6months after the so called stroke but nothing since, its been 6years this june since this happened to me, will appreciate any opinons offered, thankyou

  • Hi, I suggest that you find a new Neurologist Doctor. Take you old MRI copies with you. Ask for a new MRI to see if the dead spots have changed, or grown. If so, You could have something else other than a stroke. They need an old MRI to compare the new MRI to and look for changes. So it is very important to bring the old one with you. Could be a disease or a parasite. (both can also cause strokes). Hope this helps. lately i have been experiencing a numbing sensation up the left side of my back and sometimes the back of my head, my legs sometimes go weak and i get a tingling sensation in my feet, i have history of stroke, i had several when i was 39 and lost the use of my right arm, although i learnt to use my arm and hand again i have of late started dropping things quite alot, this is annoying as i am a tomato picker and speed is of the essence to keep my job, when i had an MRI in 2003 it showed 7 dead spots in my brain, is it possible that i have been mis-diagnosed? as the drs could not find anything medical that caused the strokes, is it possible that it was not a stroke that effected my right arm, because usually a stroke on the right side effects the whole right side and speech? i had a follow with the neurologist 6months after the so called stroke but nothing since, its been 6years this june since this happened to me, will appreciate any opinons offered, thankyou
