Hi! I'm a 27 y/o female and I've been having weird symptoms for several years. Sometimes I get this sensation through my body that it's about to happen, and then all of my muscles tense up very hard. My hands twist up and my toes curl under (even if I'm standing..my toes curl up under my feet and it's very painful)..my face twists up a bit and I just get this strange feeling. This only lasts for a couple of seconds. Then, when it's over, I feel very odd for a couple of minutes...I feel like my speech is slurred and my arms and muscles almost feel limp...I have to sit for about 30 seconds...I'm not sure if I'm UNABLE to move, but I just don't. After a moment, I can slowly start to move my muscles again, and then I'm perfectly fine again. The other odd thing is that I feel almost like I have an altered sense of reality, if that makes sense... almost like I'm in a dream or high or something (I've never been high before, though... ha ha)...for a couple of minutes... I can't really make any correlation about when this happens, except for A.) I KNOW it happens when I feel certain emotions, like anxiety..for example, if I were playing "hide and seek" and some one were chasing me, I KNOW it would happen! Or if I'm racing someone on foot or something. B.) It also happens a lot when I'm walking and C.) Somehow, I also feel it could be something with me feet? I know it sounds weird, but sometimes, if I'm sitting, it will happen if I move my feet muscles. For example, if I'm in the car and I'm wearing flip flops and I slide one onto my foot, it can happen. Or even just sliding a shoe on in general. I've been to two neurologists, and neither found anything. One tested me for "Stiff man disease". I also get migraines, and I've had two MRI's done on my brain, and they've found nothing. This is a kind of embarrassing thing to have. I work as a restaurant manager, and often it will happen when I'm walking around the dining room. I have to stop and just stand there for a second, and grab on to something, and people look at me funny. I don't fall down or anything crazy like that. I think my doctors think I'm crazy. Has anyone else ever heard of anything like this? I appreciate any comments!!! Thanks!Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
