 In August, I had swelling in the knuckle of my right index finger and numbness radiating into the finger. Over the next few weeks, I experienced pain in behind my right elbow, and into my shoulder. I had bloodwork completed which confirmed a high Rheumatoid factor, but all other bloodwork was normal. I was screened for Lyme disease as well as a host of auto-immune diseases, all of which were negative. MRI of the neck, bone scan of the upper extremities and xrays of my hand all are normal. The doctor put me on Daypro and a muscle relaxer, but I still have symptoms. The othropaedic told me to ignore my symptoms until "they blossom into whatever it is". Needless to say, I am not happy with the advise. I already visited a neurologist (EMG showed slight compression in the rigth wrist, but nothing major), Rheumatologist, Chiropractor, General Practioners, Orthropaedic with no luck. Any advise or anyone with similar symptoms? Typnig during the day aggravates the condition, but I need to type for a living!

Typnig during the day aggravates the condition, but I need to type for a living!I had almost the same symptoms years ago, I ended up having cervial spine surgery due to a m/c accident. But then I started to have the same symptoms again after about 6 years and my MRI came back normal. I went from one Dr to the next with no relief. I was exhasted from lack of sleep, due to the pain and numbness and frustrated that they couldn't find anything. I was persistant and finally they did a dye test(not sure of the name of the procedure) but they injected dye into my spine and found which disc was causing all the problems. I then had another surgery. that was in 2008. Now I am having the same thing, yes again, only more painfully and now in my upper arm too. I just had an MRI and, guess what, normal. Here I go again. I too have been to chiropractors, physical therapy, emg testing, you name it, I have had it. So I will be calling another physician and hopefully get some relief soon. Good luck to you.
