I am a 66 yr old female, I have had over 40 kidneystones, the first one at 30, they did major surgery (cutting me frim belly button to backbone), opened up kidney and removed the stone that was obstructing output. since then I have had well over 40 stones, as I have gotten older, they are increasing. I have passed 4 since January. Over the years I have had them blsasted, basketed and passed them. I have been seeing a Nephrologist and a Urologist and done everything they have suggested. Taking Potassim/choride and a water pill. They are forming in less than a month to the over 5mm. I just passed a 5.5mm stone Wednesday, the night before I was go into surgery to have it basketed out. But, they did a ultra sound and there are stones in both kidneys, one is over 6mm. I have flank pain still and I am getting very discouraged. I wouldn't leave the stone in there... it can damage your kidney. I have stage 3 kidney disease due to the stones causing havoc in my kidneys. If anyone has any ideas... I am game. Thank you...
