I have read everything so far on green poo, but none of it makes sense to me. Both me and my son have had green poo for about a week. We have had mild diarreaha. But we have not eaten anything green or close to green. If it is a parasite, will it go away by itself? I think it may be that, we both have experienced nausea also. I am 37 he is 4.

  • Purple or blue dye in food or drinks can turn the poo green.

  • Green stools are usually do to infection. If you both have had it for a week, then I would see a doctor. Also, please make sure you drink alot after a week of problems.

  • Drinking and/or eating something that is purple can cause green poop. What I was always told, is the color of your bm's don't really matter unless you see blood, mucus, or stuff that looks like coffee grounds. If you both have diarrhea, you definitely want to drink lots of water. You don't want to get dehydrated. Also eating bananas, crackers, pretzels, etc. will help firm up stools. Stay away from juices and apples, that will make diarrhea worse.
