i had been on hormonal treatment for 10 months for ovarian cyst & endometriosis- which was later found to be wrong & there was no need for the treatment.i had a viral attack in which i had fever , cold & cough.after a couple of days i had a severe spell of giddiness accompanied by hands & feet going cold & a feeling of distress.i have checked with the ENT- there is no ear infection. since then there is pain & swelling in the cervical region.my hands go numb at night, there is mild dizziness most of the time, extreme weakness. now lately my joints have started clicking & cracking too.i have an urge to stretch myself very hard.i also have irritable bowels occasionally.there is a ringing noise in the ears too. the orthopaedic has ruled out cervical spondylosis after seeing the x-ray report.all myblood test reports are normal(including thyroid).i'm getting weaker day by day & i don't know whom to go to .please help! ( i am 35 yrs old- have had a history of hyperthyroidism, but had undergone treatment & was normal).

  • Orthopedic doctors are great for most bones. But the spine is a special area. My father was a personal injury attorney, and said that he saw many more problems from Orthopedic docs in spinal injuries than from neuro-surgeons. You do NOT have to have surgery if you see a neuro-surgeon who specializes in the spinal cord. But they are much better at diagnosing cervical spine problems than orthopods are. They are more interested in your neurological symptoms, and not as impressed with a negative x-ray.So go find a neuro-surgeon, and try to see if that doctor can find a diagnosis for you.Good luck,Shula

  • I have lots of questions for you and hope you can help answer them:;) Why did you say the hormonal treatment was wrong and unneccessary? What was the treatment -birth control or HRT? Were you misdiagnosed with endo? How large were your cysts and did they do a follow up ultrasound? When did you have the virus attack? How long after you started your hormonal treatment? did you take any meds for this illness? Any antibiotics? How was your hyperthyroid treated? Do you still take medication? Did you have surgery? Are you currently taking any medications? If so what are they? Do you take any supplements? Sorry for so many questions, but felt the need to ask them. Have you tried chiropractic for your cervical pain? i think it would help. Acupuncture as well would be very helpful as it sounds like your body is quite out of balance. Best wishesDOM
