I was diagnosed with genital herpes on December 4. I had the virus for 4-5 days before going to the dr. because I had no idea this could be the cause. I immediately began to have trouble emptying my bladder. It worsened to the point that I could not empty it at all. I went to a urologist, had a catheter inserted for 7 days, went back, had it removed and I still could not go. No amount of pressure I applied was helping. I went back to the urologist, had the catheter reinserted. When I went back I had 1700 ml of urine in my bladder without any urge to go to the bathroom. My urologist seems to know nothing about the problem and just says it will go away. I took 1200 mg of Acyclovir for 10 days. My concern is that my nerve endings were damaged and that I will forever be like this. Please help. I'm not sure what action I should take next. It is apparently a rare enough complication that nobody knows anything about it which is what concerns me. Thank you for your time.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
