I have had generalized itching everywhere almost all the time for 3 months now, it started following a sexual encounter on a trip abroad. I had itching in the groin which soon spread to the entire body. I do not have lesions or rash and no real visible signs. The best way to describe the feeling is like a wooley sweater that is irritating to the skin but that feeling everywhere.

I'm a 32 yr old male with have no other health problems except lack of sleep from this (I usually wake between 4-5 with sweaty legs feeling hot)

This thing is driving me into despair and depression I am on my own, told no-one and have sucidal thoughts. I have been to 4 doctors, a dermatologist and a chinese medicene man so far.

I've tried permethrin 5% cream 5 times, supplements (grapefruit seed extract, garlic extract, quericene and vitimin D3) tried and still trying nightly baths in Borax and products from safe2use.com even accupunture but still not solved it.

If this sounds familiar or you have cracked something like this Please Please let me know how.

  • I did not get much response so just asking if anyone can help. I believe this is parisitic of fungal. The itching and skin discomfort is generalized, my hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, legs, arms, feet hands, itches come and go everywhere on my body. I have had neither diagnosis (ok misdiagnosis of scabies) nor treatment and this is not going away. I want to try ivermectin but I cannot get it without prescription. I am desperate, please post if you feel similar symptoms

I am desperate, please post if you feel similar symptoms This does sound like candida overload. Candida is NOT a STD, but can be transmitted through sexual contact. You need to cleanse from the inside out to get this under control, if it is candida. Visit www.candidasupport.org and www.wholeapproach.com for info on this problem. There is a written test and saliva test you can do which can tell you if candida is an issue for you. Good candida cleanses include wild oregano oil ( you need to take quite a bit, 200 mg 4-5x per day IME), caprylic acid, aloe vera juice, FRESH garlic, pau d'arco, and others. Threelac is one of the best products for killing excess candida. You might want to try a green tea wash - green tea is excellent for the skin and is antimicrobial. Also look for an aloe product called Herbal Aloe Force Skin gel - fantastic stuff if you can find it! If you check your saliva and it doesn't seem like candida fits, then I would pursue scabies, and make sure you have been tested for Herpes. Did the acupuncturist prescribe herbs for you to take? IMO acupuncture is not as helpful as Chinese herbal formulas for skin disorders. Ask your OM doc if they are NCCAOM certified in Chinese herbology, and if so, they should make you an herbal tea to take. Best wishesDOM

  • It could have been co-incidental to a shingles-like virus. I would ask for blood work for herpes 2 (specific) and syphilis for sure since the itch began around your genitals. You do not need to have a visible rash to have herpes. Or you could have picked up a fungus of some type or it could just be nerves.
