Hello,

Please help me diagnose my problem:

Symptoms:

About a month ago, I started to have diarrhea 5-20 mins. following a meal.
I noticed this especially when I ate a large meal. With small meals, I seldomly got diarrhea following this meal.

One day, after having eaten a really large salad , I had a look at the toilet bowl, and noticed that it was all green . This tells me that the food I had just eaten 20 mins ago, already had exited me. When I don't eat a big salad, what comes out is not green, but 'normal' colour.

When I eat small, but frequent meals, I don't get diarrhea following the meal.
I do get diarrhea now and then not ollowing a meal. But this is sort of rare.

There was a change in my condition about 5 days ago.
It started when I drank a Herbalife shake. I felt nausea immediately, as soon as it hit my stomach. I forced the rest of the shake down . I then had the feeling as if the contents of my stomach was about to burst out of both ends at once. That didn't happen, though.

At the time, I just thought I was intolerant to the Herbalife, and didn't think of it anymore.
But since then, I've had frequent stomach pains, inculding one really severe bout, which I'm still not sure might have been some bad meat I ate some hours prior to this bout.

I've had stomach pains in the upper stomach as well as in the intestines on and off for 4-5 days now, I also have a lot of gas.
The pain seems to be kinda all over. I mean all the intestines and the stomach, if that makes sense. Although, sometimes it more localised for shorter periods of time.

I've noticed that if I eat small meals frequently (like every 4 horus or so), the pains subside and often disappear completely .
I stick to yoghurt and whole grain bread with butter and salami.
Last night, I ate some curry stuff. As soon as it hit my stomach, it felt like there was a small fire down there. I only ate a few bites and then switched to bread again.
Usually, I have no problems with spicy food.

I noticed that when I don't eat frequently, I get nasueated and get pains in my stomach. This usually goes away as soon as I have eaten a small meal. . The pain and nasuea reappear when I get hungry again.

Another thing I've noticed is that if I eat in the morning, and then wait until late in the eveing for my second meal, I end up getting diarrhea somewhere in the day
This is another reason why I now try to eat every 4 hours or so.

I might also state that I do drink plenty of water every day. I'm not dehydrated.

One more thing I think I should mention is that about 3 months ago, I suddenly found myself having fatigue all day long. And high heart rate when standing up .

I had - and still have - a lot of the symtoms that people that have Hypothyroid have. I'm always cold, very fatigued all the time.
I did get my blood checked in late June. My thyroid is fine, according to those tests, as are vitamin B-12 and vitamin D levels. Cholesterol levels are fine, also. My glucose levels seem fine as well, albeit slightly nearing elevated levels.

My blood pressure is 128/80. My heart rate is 70 when I lay down, and 90-100 whan I'm standing.

Has anyone have an idea what could be wrong with my stomach/intestines?

Thank you.

Because it may take years for TSH to reflect FREE T3 levels, which is the test you need to check thyroid. It sounds to me like you have insufficient digestive enzymes and/or HCL. You can search online for protocols to determine stomach acid levels. You should not see green stool - it is a sign you are not digesting what you eat. It takes HCL hitting the small intestine to stimulate the release of digestive enzymes, so the cascade can break with insufficient HCL (caused by HYPERthyroid, for example), or it can be a break down of one of the organs creating one or more of the digestive enzymes. My bet is that you are hyperthyroid during pms, as it is not uncommon for women to be hypothyroid when estrogen is present and hyperthryoid when not. Make sure you measure FREE T3 as TSH won't change fast enough to detect it. Good luck.

PMS etc.About the digestive enzymes. I actually started taking those about 3 weeks ago. I also started on probiotics. Hard to tell if they are working.Re. Hyperthyroidism. I'm cold all the time. Even in the height of the summer heat, I was wearing three tops + long pants. Is it really possible to be hyper when you're this cold?I always thought that was a sign of hypo.Thank you for you reply.
