I'm a 33 year old male with no history of any GI issues except the occasional bout of diarrhea related to food.
For a week now I have had little relief from abdominal discomfort (gas/bloating) that is not localized and is relieved by keeping my stomach at least partially full. While in the first few days the pain and discomfort was present most of the day, now it seems to only happen first thing in the morning, which wakes me up at around 4:00-5:00 am.
Lying down makes the pain worse. My bowel movements alternate from normal to light diarrhea with no unusual color of the stool and no visible presence of blood.
There is little to no nausea and I have not been vomiting. I have tried taking Bentylol as prescribed by a doctor, which did very little to relieve the symptoms. I have also ruled out Lactose Intolerance.
I also ingested some caraway seeds (which are intended to help with digestion and bloating), which gave temporary relief for several hours, but it seems that the symptoms are always worse in the morning.
The only conflict with IBS is that I do not have immediate relief from the pain and bloating after a bowel movement.
