i have been having sharp stomach pains in the upper center of my stomach on and off for years. It is now current almost once a week. I get sharp dull pain that wont go away for hours. I have to throw up and then it feels better eventually. I got ultrasound before and no stones but HIATA test showed gallbladder wasnt functioning to well. You thikn that is my problem. It seems certain things wont go down anymore and it makes my stomach burn and PAIN for hours. I HATE IT. I had a scope ran down my stomach and showed nothing. Could it be hernia perhaps? He said i could have a small one but who knows. Upper stomach pain with constipation and only throwing up makes me feel better. Mediciine really doesnt help that much once i feel the pain. Any advice. Do i need to get gallbladder out. I am 28/m and owrkout all the time. Have like 10 percent bodyfat. Lean in shape, etc...Who knows? Could it be hormones also?

  • If your HIDA scan was abnormal, you have gallbladder disease whether or not you have gallstones, and it needs to come out.

  • I also had no stones, but a non-functioning gall bladder. I had it removed - only a few very small incisions and a couple days down after the outpatient surgery. I felt better immediately.

  • I would go get a CT scan and a stomach emptying test. Depending on ur symptoms. I had my Gall bladder removed and it kept getting worse. Now they are trying to figure out why I am not getting better. So I have a CT scan coming up next week and a bacteria test. I dont know why I have not been getting better. Hopefully its something simple like a bacteria infection cause im tired of not being able to eat anything and feeling chest pains and bloating.
