Within the past month I have been having some terrifying issues with my chest. It began with shortness of breath, most noticeable when I was laying down to go to sleep. Two days later I developed a cough with some slight congestion. I went to the doctor and she prescribed an inhaler and decongestant. Nether of which seem to help. The cough progressively became worse and by week two I even began to develop some slight wheezing upon exhaling. I went back and explained this to the doctor. She then prescribed methylprednisolone and amox antibiotic, as well as sent me for a chest xray. After just the second day of meds I was feeling better. The xray revealed no diseases however notes that I have something called pectus excavatum. I assumed it was just a bug since I had been feeling better, but here we are on day four of meds and I'm beginning to develop the cough again. The cough itself is not very productive. Any phlegm is not colored. Everytime I visit the doctor I feel like she is just throwing meds at me and really not getting to the source of the problem. This has been going.on for there weeks now and I'm feeling very frustrated. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
